kicking it off.

i feel that my first post should naturally reflect the title of the blog, ripen and then rot..it comes from one of my all time favorite movies, woody allen's 1977 Annie Hall, a nervous romance where woody allen (alvy singer) falls in love with the ditsy Annie Hall (diane keaton). "I have a tendency to-if i get too mellow, I ripen and then rot, you know."

there a many a memorable quote that could be pulled from the movie, but this one came to me immediately after watching the movie earlier in the week. it seems appropriate for what i am trying to do and say with the writing and photos for this blog.
